As cell phones work again, Haitians get voicemails, texts from dead

The final words of thousands of earthquake victims were seen and heard for the first time as Haiti's cell phone system began working again, The Sun reported Tuesday.
Frantic voice mails and texts from people trapped in the ruins following Jan. 12's deadly 7.0-magnitude quake brought fresh anguish to friends and relatives of the estimated 150,000 dead.
Survivor Rene Emile, 32, said her husband Peter was on a course at a college in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince before it collapsed.
He sent a text message which said: "Send help, we are still alive. May the Lord bless you and keep you, his face shine upon you. I love you."

Emile said: "This is all I have left of my husband. Some words on a cell phone screen. This is all there is and it arrived too late."

Haiti officials confirmed that more than 150,000 quake victims had been buried in mass graves but feared the final toll could be more than the 230,000 killed by the 2004 Asian tsunami.
An estimated 1.5 million people are homeless and one million children are orphans on the devastated Caribbean island nation.
Thousands of injuries are being treated in a huge makeshift hospital set up in a mango swamp.

Straight Out Of London: The Launch Of Preenline (via http://www.vogue.com/voguedaily/)

preen01.jpg

He’d be the last person to hype Preen as a fashion fairytale, but to Justin Thornton, the way things are turning out is beginning to feel a bit like a morality tale. “If there are hares and tortoises in fashion,” he says, “we’re definitely tortoises.” From their start making street-slash-deconstucted clothes in premises under the grimy flyover at Portobello in 1997, he and his partner-in-life, Thea Bregazzi, have wended their way to have become relatively recent fixtures on the New York show calendar.

Interpreting My Dream

Last night I had a dream that I was forced to evacuate an island town and had no choice but to do so by makeshift boat.  I have had this dream before about a year ago.  I gathered and packed small items of significance such as, a tarp, coat, knife, crayons (the artist in me grabbed the crayons!), and snacks. Every time I packed something, it somehow gets lost or I have to replace it due to hoodlums trying to flee as well.  My boat wasn't made from much; maybe some old dresser and wood etc. I had my family with me and some co-workers and friends. The water was mostly murky and didn't show the bright blue ocean until about 2 miles away. We all had our separate boats but the same destination. The entire dream was purely preparation and I woke up right before we got in the water.

Below are interpretations of objects that I got from http://www.dreammoods.com.  I highlighted in red and bold the parts that I felt pertained mostly to my life and current feelings about situations.

To dream that you are in or see a boat, signifies your ability to cope with and express your emotions. Pay particular attention to the condition and state of the waters, whether is is calm or violent, clear or murky, etc. Are you "smooth sailing"? Alternatively, you may be ready to confront your unconscious and unknown aspects of yourself.
To dream that you are trying to jump off a boat, suggests that  you want to confront those difficult emotions and approach your  problems head on.

To see  or dream that you are on an island, signifies ease, relaxation and comfort. The dream is telling you that you need a vacation and escape the stresses in your life. You want some solitude.
To dream that you are stranded on an island, suggests that you need to get away from the demands of your daily life. Or perhaps you are running away from a situation instead of trying to confront it.  Alternatively, you may feel cut off from society. You are in a rut and do not quite know what to do with your life.

To dream that you are packing, signifies big changes ahead for you. You are putting past issues and/or  relationships  to rest and behind you. Alternatively, it represents the burdens that you carry.
To dream that you are packing, unpacking and packing and unpacking again, represents chaos in your life.  You are having trouble juggling various components of your life. You are carrying around too many burdens but have trouble letting go some of these burdens. Consider what unfinished business you have to tend to. Try to resolve these issues so they can finally be put to rest.

To see water in your dream, symbolizes your unconscious and your emotional state of mind. Water is the living essence of the psyche and the flow of life energy.  It is also symbolic of spirituality, knowledge, healing and refreshment. To dream that water is boiling, suggests that you are expressing some emotional turmoil. It also may mean that feelings from your unconscious are surfacing and ready to be acknowledged. You need to let out some steam.
To see calm, clear water in your dream, signifies that you are in tune with your spirituality. It denotes serenity, peace of mind, and rejuvenation.
To see muddy or dirty water in your dream, indicates that you are wallowing in your negative emotions. You may need to devote some time to clarify your mind and find internal peace. Alternatively, it suggests that your thinking/judgment is unclear and clouded. If you are immersed in muddy water, then it indicates that you are in over your head in a situation and are overwhelmed by your emotions.
To dream that water is rising up in your house, signifies your struggles and overwhelming emotions.
To hear running water in your dream, denotes meditation, reflection and pondering of your thoughts and emotions.
To dream that you are walking on water, suggests that you have supreme and ultimate control over your emotions. It may also suggest that you need to "stay on top" of your emotions and not let them explode out of hand. Alternatively, it is symbolic of faith in yourself.

Reoccurring Dream

Most dreams contain messages that serve to teach you something about yourself. However, soon after you wake up to go about your daily routine, you tend to quickly forget what you dream about. The message in recurring dreams may be so important and/or powerful that it refuses to go away. The frequent repetition of such dreams forces you to pay attention and confront the dream. It is desperately trying to tell you something.  Such dreams are often nightmarish or frightening in their content, which also helps you to take notice and pay attention to them.
Recurring dreams are quite common and are often triggered by a certain life situation or a problem that keeps coming back again and again. These dreams may recur daily, once a week, or once a month. Whatever the frequency, there is little variation in the dream content itself. Such dreams may be highlighting a personal weakness, fear, or your inability to cope with something in your life - past or present.
The repetitive patterns in your dream reveal some of the most valuable information about yourself. It may point to a conflict, situation or matter in your waking life that remains unresolved or unsettled. Some urgent underlying message in your unconscious is demanding to be understood.

*This wraps up a lot of issues for me. puts it all in a nutshell. I will have to blog my response later.

PRINCE- I would die 4 u

I Would Die For U lyrics

I'm not a woman
I'm not a man
I am something that you'll never understand

I'll never beat you
I'll never lie
And if you’re evil I'll forgive you by and by

You - I would die for you, yeah
Darling if you want me to
You - I would die for you

I'm not your lover
I'm not your friend
I am something that you'll never comprehend

No need to worry
No need to cry
I'm your messiah and you’re the reason why

'Cuz you- I would die for you, yeah
Darling if you want me to
You - I would die for you

You’re just a sinner I am told
Be your fire when you’re cold
Make you happy when you’re sad
Make you good when you are bad

I'm not a human
I am a dove
I'm your conscience
I am love
All I really need is to know that
You believe

Yeah, I would die for you, yeah
Darling if you want me to
You - I would die for you

Yeah, say one more time

You - I would die for you
Darling if you want me to
You - I would die for you
2 3 for you

I would die for you
I would die for you
You - I would die for you
You - I would die for you

Inspiration

I absolutely loved this dress when I saw it for the first time in the Russian Roulette video! I had to rewind it several times because they only showed it for about 7 seconds.  Finally found the picture, it's gorgeous! Seems to be made from a matte jersey fabric or peach skin fabric. I MUST re-create this dress with a Cam-Marie twist.

Behind The Scenes W/Cam-Marie Photoshoot

Its been a lil' more than a year...
