Who is Cam-Marie?
Camelia Williams, 22 a graduate of FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), is the designer of the emerging women’s dress line “Cam-Marie”
A Bay Area native, she is committed to starting and building her business locally. “It’s important to me to start my business here in the Bay because I want to represent my roots and be able to give back to the local economy and local communities regularly.”
Camelia is a very focused business woman. She is always listening to others who have gone before her who can offer advice and wisdom. With entrepreneurs in her immediate family, it’s only natural for her to want to be her own boss. “I’m working hard to start my won business while I am young so a can enjoy it for a long time and have the energy to run it.”
When asked about her design style, it is evident that its classic. Camelia, who also answers to her design name Cam-Marie, has a very classy demeanor. Her unwavering opinion of a woman’s style is told through her designs. Curve sensitive designs, as well as some curve concealing dresses allow a variety of women to be able to have a taste of Cam-Marie in their wardrobe. Her style reflects the woman who loves to work, party, and enjoy being beautiful. Her goal is to make something for everybody, from the high school prom go-er, to the brides-maids, to the high school reunion attendee! Ms. Williams describes the women of Cam-Marie (her customers) as diamonds; “A woman should be beautiful every time she gets dressed, no matter how she may feel inside. That’s where beautiful garments play a part in her life. Every woman deserves to shine like the diamond she is no matter how far in the coal she’s buried, and that’s what Cam-Marie represents.”
