Beyonce and Jay-Z have learned the gender of their expected child. The couple are reportedly looking forward to a bouncing baby girl; according to In Touch. An unnamed insider, cited only as a 'close friend of the singer's' has revealed that the diva is ecstatic at the news.

"Beyoncé is thrilled she's having a daughter," said the source. "She and her mother are so close, and she's wanted to have that relationship with her own child."

The baby girl is expected in February of 2012.

The announcement marks a turnaround for Versace, who in 2008 claimed that a high street diffusion line simply wasn’t the Versace way. “I respect everyone who does it. But the reason I didn’t do it is because I work very hard to put the Versace line in the luxury section. I think to put the Versace line in H&M would confuse the brand,” she told New York Magazine. However, rather than ‘diffusion’, this line is being sold as an ‘Iconic Collection’ for which Donatella will raid the archives of the Italian fashion house that was founded by her brother Gianni in 1978.

The womenswear collection will be dominated by dresses featuring studded leather, silk and colorful print, with accessories including high heels and costume jewellery. Drafting off shoppers’ interest in her wedding dresses for David’s Bridal, Vera Wang has unveiled a bridesmaid dress collection under the White by Vera Wang label for the 300-plus unit chain.

Last year Wang exited the bridesmaid business after deciding she didn’t have enough access to the collection and couldn’t run it in a way that was timely. In an interview, Wang said, the alliance with David’s Bridal has allowed her to develop bridesmaid dresses “in a much larger and more unusual way with a tremendous amount of support. They are up for anything I am interested in trying.”

The seven-piece line of dresses in such shades as orchid, amethyst, charcoal and champagne will ship to 250 David Bridal’s stores in late June. But the designer noted “these dresses are not inexpensive,” with a few retailing for $200. (More cost-conscious brides will find a $158 opening price point.) A one-shoulder short dress with a bubble skirt adorned with oversize rosettes is geared for style-minded wedding parties. But there are also more traditional choices such as a short dress with horizontal pleats and a sleeveless chiffon column dress with swag skirt.

More formal options can be found in a satin asymmetrical design with a bias cut or a strapless draped gown paired with a grosgrain sash. “Everyone is doing the long skirt now. I never thought we would see that come back but it has,” she said. “It just felt right.”

Each dress is meant to convey “a very youthful” spirit — something Wang keeps track of by how her two Millennial-age daughters and their friends like to dress. How that translates to the world of retail is something that New York-based MODCo. helped Wang and her company’s president Mario Grauso define. That called for field trips to David’s Bridal stores. “We wanted to see how everything was merchandised within the stores, not just the clothing. We looked at the hangers, the signage, the logo,” she said.

A shoe collection also will hit the retailer’s stores in late June. The four shoe styles — a pump, a ballerina flat, a peep-toe pump and an open-toe bootie with a grosgrain ribbon — will retail from $58 to $98. The idea is not to flood the stores with too much of any one thing.

“We’re growing gradually as a business and we are in a good place. We’re in a very solid position and we’re trying to build on that consistency and creativity,” Wang said. “It definitely has not been the easiest of times since two and half years ago when the market went down and the world went with it. Other designers might not tell you that, but it’s the truth.”

As for how Wang reinvents bridal from one season to the next and churns out design ideas for 40-plus categories, she said, “The secret is I always wonder how I could do it better, push the envelope farther and do it on a better budget,” she said. “Nothing is done without thought.”

Ok, I am a Goapole fan and a lover of this song!! BUT!!!!!! i am very disappointed with this video. The best thing about this

video is the location and her wardrobe styling. It seems like she shot it all in one place. A vintage home in San Francisco

or Oakland perhaps?

Goapole seems very uncomfortable and is smiling rather "fake-ly" throughout the ENTIRE video. She never breaks

character at points in the song that require in depth physical and emotional communication. It would have been nice to

see another person or couple in the video in order to tell the story as well.

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday? The history of Valentine's Day — and its patron saint — is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

While some believe that Valentine's Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine's death or burial — which probably occurred around 270 A.D — others claim that the Christian church may have decided to celebrate Valentine's feast day in the middle of February in an effort to 'christianize' celebrations of the pagan Lupercalia festival. In ancient Rome, February was the official beginning of spring and was considered a time for purification. Houses were ritually cleansed by sweeping them out and then sprinkling salt and a type of wheat called spelt throughout their interiors. Lupercalia, which began at the ides of February, February 15, was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

To begin the festival, members of the Luperci, an order of Roman priests, would gather at the sacred cave where the infants Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome, were believed to have been cared for by a she-wolf or lupa. The priests would then sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification.

The boys then sliced the goat's hide into strips, dipped them in the sacrificial blood and took to the streets, gently slapping both women and fields of crops with the goathide strips. Far from being fearful, Roman women welcomed being touched with the hides because it was believed the strips would make them more fertile in the coming year. Later in the day, according to legend, all the young women in the city would place their names in a big urn. The city's bachelors would then each choose a name out of the urn and become paired for the year with his chosen woman. These matches often ended in marriage. Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St. Valentine's Day around 498 A.D. The Roman 'lottery' system for romantic pairing was deemed un-Christian and outlawed. Later, during the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds' mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of February — Valentine's Day — should be a day for romance. The oldest known valentine still in existence today was a poem written by Charles, Duke of Orleans to his wife while he was imprisoned in the Tower of London following his capture at the Battle of Agincourt. The greeting, which was written in 1415, is part of the manuscript collection of the British Library in London, England. Several years later, it is believed that King Henry V hired a writer named John Lydgate to compose a valentine note to Catherine of Valois.

In Great Britain, Valentine's Day began to be popularly celebrated around the seventeenth century. By the middle of the eighteenth century, it was common for friends and lovers in all social classes to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes. By the end of the century, printed cards began to replace written letters due to improvements in printing technology. Ready-made cards were an easy way for people to express their emotions in a time when direct expression of one's feelings was discouraged. Cheaper postage rates also contributed to an increase in the popularity of sending Valentine's Day greetings. Americans probably began exchanging hand-made valentines in the early 1700s. In the 1840s, Esther A. Howland began to sell the first mass-produced valentines in America.

According to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine's Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. (An estimated 2.6 billion cards are sent for Christmas.)

Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women. In addition to the United States, Valentine's Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.

Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages (written Valentine's didn't begin to appear until after 1400), and the oldest known Valentine card is on display at the British Museum. The first commercial Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. were created in the 1840s by Esther A. Howland. Howland, known as the Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap".

I remember learning about the color wheel in college (FIDM) it was one of the most interesting lessons I learned! Although I do not use it on a regular basis, it does help in making wise color choices.

The color wheel or color circle is the basic tool for combining colors. The first circular color diagram was designed by Sir Isaac Newton in 1666.

The color wheel is designed so that virtually any colors you pick from it will look good together. Over the years, many variations of the basic design have been made, but the most common version is a wheel of 12 colors based on the RYB (or artistic) color model.

Traditionally, there are a number of color combinations that are considered especially pleasing. These are called color harmonies or color chords and they consist of two or more colors with a fixed relation in the color wheel.

The final words of thousands of earthquake victims were seen and heard for the first time as Haiti's cell phone system began working again, The Sun reported Tuesday.

Frantic voice mails and texts from people trapped in the ruins following Jan. 12's deadly 7.0-magnitude quake brought fresh anguish to friends and relatives of the estimated 150,000 dead.

Survivor Rene Emile, 32, said her husband Peter was on a course at a college in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince before it collapsed.

He sent a text message which said: "Send help, we are still alive. May the Lord bless you and keep you, his face shine upon you. I love you."

Emile said: "This is all I have left of my husband. Some words on a cell phone screen. This is all there is and it arrived too late."

Haiti officials confirmed that more than 150,000 quake victims had been buried in mass graves but feared the final toll could be more than the 230,000 killed by the 2004 Asian tsunami.

An estimated 1.5 million people are homeless and one million children are orphans on the devastated Caribbean island nation.

Thousands of injuries are being treated in a huge makeshift hospital set up in a mango swamp.

Interpreting My Dream

Last night I had a dream that I was forced to evacuate an island town and had no choice but to do so by makeshift boat. I have had this dream before about a year ago. I gathered and packed small items of significance such as, a tarp, coat, knife, crayons (the artist in me grabbed the crayons!), and snacks. Every time I packed something, it somehow gets lost or I have to replace it due to hoodlums trying to flee as well. My boat wasn't made from much; maybe some old dresser and wood etc. I had my family with me and some co-workers and friends. The water was mostly murky and didn't show the bright blue ocean until about 2 miles away. We all had our separate boats but the same destination. The entire dream was purely preparation and I woke up right before we got in the water.

Boat

I absolutely loved this dress when I saw it for the first time in the Russian Roulette video! I had to rewind it several times because they only showed it for about 7 seconds. Finally found the picture, it's gorgeous! Seems to be made from a matte jersey fabric or peach skin fabric. I MUST re-create this dress with a Cam-Marie twist.

A Bay Area native, she is committed to starting and building her business locally. “It’s important to me to start my business here in the Bay because I want to represent my roots and be able to give back to the local economy and local communities regularly.”
Camelia is a very focused business woman. She is always listening to others who have gone before her who can offer advice and wisdom. With entrepreneurs in her immediate family, it’s only natural for her to want to be her own boss. “I’m working hard to start my won business while I am young so a can enjoy it for a long time and have the energy to run it.”
When asked about her design style, it is evident that its classic. Camelia, who also answers to her design name Cam-Marie, has a very classy demeanor. Curve sensitive designs, as well as some curve concealing dresses allow a variety of women to be able to have a taste of Cam-Marie in their wardrobe.
